EDMCHARTS_109i

A hot june equals hot music! This week EDM Charts purveys the hottest deep house releases of 2013 thus far. Erkka “excommunicates” what is standard in the industry. Climbers are anything but “frozen” with their blazing new single. Lars Vegas shows us what the “game” is all about.

1. ERKKA “EXCOMMUNICATION” [ORIGINAL MIX] (ANJUNADEEP) Release Date: 2013-6-3edmcharts_erkka

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: DEEP HOUSE

Origin: FINLAND

Description: Erkka tops the chart as the #1 deep house hit of 2013 thus far with a futuristic vibing track under the famed Anjunadeep label. This track has a little bit of everything. A snazzy vocal chopped over a deep soulful instrumental highlights what deep house is truly meant to be. This Finnish producer is fairly new to the scene, but if this is any precedent on what to expect, fans should really keep their ears tuned in.

WEEKLY TOP ELECTRONIC CHARTS: JUNE 2013, VOL. 108

5 Jun

EDMCHARTS_VOL108

June is here and that officially marks the start of the summer in the northern hemisphere, sorry Aussies and South Americans! Paul Oakenfold gives us a “beautiful” take on the world. Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Jerome Isma-ae ”bang” it with a big track under Armin’s label. Alan Fitzpatrick takes us back to the “beginning” with some industrial techno beats.

1. PAUL OAKENFOLD, DISFUNKTION, SPITFIRE “BEAUTIFUL WORLD” [ORIGINAL MIX] (PERFECTO RECORDS) Release Date: 2013-6-3edmcharts_oakenfold

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: PROGRESSIVE HOUSE

Origin: UK

Description: Oakenfold is a legend who has been a dominant figure over the last 15 years if not more in the EDM scene. He has had commerical exposure with hits such as “Sex N Money” and “Faster Kill Pussycat” and has established his own label in Perfecto Records. His latest single “Beautiful World” is very much on the lighter side of sound, highlighting optimistic vocals and golden piano riff. Simply put; it is a feel good track that is harmonious from beginning to end. You really don’t slam together great productions like this without experience and a great production team.

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: PROGRESSIVE HOUSE

Origin: HOLLAND

Description: There may not be a more rapidly rising DJ duo in trance/progressive house than W&W (Willem van Hanegem & Ward van der Harst). Under Mainstage Music (a sub label of Armada) W&W have done nothing but pump out massive hits such as Moscow, The Code, Lift Off and D# Fat. Like the title suggests, the track brings the boom in the form of bass. With carefully planned interludes so that the track can literally catch its breath, there is nothing but literal firepower behind this banger.
