This specific remix by Irishman John O’Callaghan adds a separate piano bridge and is sped up to O’Callaghan’s tailored style. Christina Novelli’s vocals are perfect and help bring the track to life. There’s no wonder why Gareth Emery is consistently in top #20 grouping of DJs.

Description: There’s a reason why Anjunabeats is constantly considered one of the best labels in the game. Jaytech, Anjunadeep’s former A&R director, has moved more towards the trance side of things. “Stranger” showcases a classy club mix that is highlighted by piano and complimented by beautiful vocals from Dirty Vegas’ frontman Steve Smith.

Description: As the Anjunabeats train rolls on, we feature genre smasher Mat Zo. Off his Bipolar EP this previous winter, “It’s Yours” is a funk driven track that lives in between trance and progressive house. It actually samples Jon Cutler & E-Man’s original hit. Zo is racing his way up the charts and has garnered much respect from his peers.

Description: What would a year end countdown list be like without Above & Beyond on it? They have quite a few hits to choose from this year but one specific remix stood. Thanks to the Hungarian duo Myon & Shane 54, they take a dark and deep take on “Alchemy”. Zoe Johnston pulls off her usual perfection on vocals. Jono, Tony and Paavo are on top of their game, Group Therapy style.4

Description: “The Sky” is easily the most unique track on this countdown. It has multiple parts that are broken down in a rare and genuine style. This specific club mix is more bass driven and hits hard on the synths. Linnea Schossow, who is featured on vocals as well as an interview on our site, makes an excellent big stage debut. The track is essentially a religious experience of sorts.

6. ANDREW RAYEL, JANO “HOW DO I KNOW” [ORIGINAL MIX] (ARMIND) Release Date: 2012-10-29#4_andrerayel

Origin: Moldova

Description: Andrew Rayel has been having a massive 2012 with hits like “Aeon of Revenge” and “550 Senta”. “How Do I Know” is on another level. These may be the best vocals on a track this year, thanks to Jano. Having already been featured on Armin van Buuren’s Universal Religion Chapter 6, Rayel has already received the most legitimate stamp of approval.

7. OMNIA, IRA “FUSION” [ORIGINAL MIX] (COLDHARBOUR RECORDINGS) Release Date: 2012-3-26#4_omnia

Description: Talk about a great way to start kicking off one’s career under Markus Schulz’ famed label Coldharbour Recordings. Rising DJ/Producer Omnia produces pure bliss with “Omnia”. Joined by SmartApes DJ Ira, this track has been featured on both Markus Schulz Los Angeles and Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance, this hit single has been nothing less than a wrecking ball.

8. ARTY “OPEN SPACE” [ORIGINAL MIX] (ANJUNABEATS) Release Date: 2012-6-18#4_arty

Origin: Russia

Description: Talk about a prodigy. Russian wonderkid Arty is one of the hardest working in the industry and also one of the most talented. One of his best productions of the year is his galactic construction of “Open Space”. It is a high paced instrumental that has a future age sound to it. Make sure to check out his new radio show as well, “Together We Are” on SiriusXM.

9. ARTY, BT, NADIA ALI “MUST BE THE LOVE” [SHOGUN REMIX] (ARMIND) Release Date: 2012-11-19#4_nadia

Genre: Trance

Origin: Russia, USA

Description: “Must Be The Love” represents an all-star team of talen. With the likes of Arty, BT and vocalist Nadia Ali, you just cannot go wrong. This specific remix from US DJ Shogun, showcases his trance take on this song. If you take time to listen to the beautiful vocals of Ali, you can easily tell that these are some of the best written lyrics of the year.

10. ALY & FILA “FSOE 200 ANTHEM” [UMMET OZCAN REMIX] (FUTURE SOUND OF EGYPT) Release Date: 2012-1-23#4_aly&fila

Origin: Egypt

Description: Celebrating their 200th episode of Future Sound of Egypt radio show at the beginning of 2012, Aly & Fila came up with this anthem. Thanks to the help of Ummet Ozcan, it becomes a hardened, high energy trance track that we have all come to love from this Egyptian duo. Aly & Fila will be featured artists on the A State of Trance 600 stage in Mumbai this spring.
