EDMCHARTS_VOL108

June is here and that officially marks the start of the summer in the northern hemisphere, sorry Aussies and South Americans! Paul Oakenfold gives us a “beautiful” take on the world. Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Jerome Isma-ae “bang” it with a big track under Armin’s label. Alan Fitzpatrick takes us back to the “beginning” with some industrial techno beats.

1. PAUL OAKENFOLD, DISFUNKTION, SPITFIRE “BEAUTIFUL WORLD” [ORIGINAL MIX] (PERFECTO RECORDS) Release Date: 2013-6-3edmcharts_oakenfold

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: PROGRESSIVE HOUSE

Origin: UK

Description: Oakenfold is a legend who has been a dominant figure over the last 15 years if not more in the EDM scene. He has had commerical exposure with hits such as “Sex N Money” and “Faster Kill Pussycat” and has established his own label in Perfecto Records. His latest single “Beautiful World” is very much on the lighter side of sound, highlighting optimistic vocals and golden piano riff. Simply put; it is a feel good track that is harmonious from beginning to end. You really don’t slam together great productions like this without experience and a great production team.

2. ALEX M.O.R.P.H., JEROME ISMA-AE “BANG!” [ORIGINAL MIX] (ARMIND) Release Date: 2013-6-3edmcharts_alexmorph

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: PROGRESSIVE HOUSE

Origin: GERMANY

Description: In this duo production from Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Jerome Isma-Ae, “Bang!” really packs a bang. This track was originally debuted as an ID during Armin van Buuren’s ASOT 600, and was not revealed until now. This track differs quite a bit in style in what fans are used to hearing from these two artists. It sounds much more on the progressive and even dare we say tech house side. Even though it was debuted at ASOT 600 it very well could be used in a house set in Miami or Ibiza, as there’s plenty of bass, rhythm and vibe.

Reminds Us Of: NONE | We’re stumped on this one.

3. ALAN FITZPATRICK “IN THE BEGINNING” [ORIGINAL MIX] (DRUMCODE) Release Date: 2013-6-3edmcharts_alanfitzpatrick

Rating: ★★★★

Genre: TECHNO

Origin: UK

Description: If you’re looking for that grimy, warehouse, industrial feel than Alan Fitzpatrick has a hot techno track in store for you. The driving synth you hear throughout the track pushes the bold Drumcode feel that fans have come to know and love from Adam Beyer’s label. The percussion you hear in the background truly gives the track volume and provides the big room feel. There is no label currently that touches Drumcode in techno productions; there’s simply too much talent on the table at the moment, and Fitzpatrick is one of the all-stars.

4. VEIGA, BLOCK & CROWN “LIVE TOGETHER” [ORIGINAL MIX] (PORNOSTAR RECORDS) Release Date: 2013-6-3edmcharts_veiga

Rating: ★★★★

Genre: TRANCE

Origin: UNKNOWN

Description: EDM Charts will admit, through strenuous research, we simply cannot find that much background info on either artist, Veiga or Block & Crown. However, we can tell you this release comes from one of the most respected and dominant names in the house genre in Pornostar Records. This disco driven track is highlighted from some soulful choruses and vocals. The bass riff is complimented with a futuristic echo like synth. The energy and enthusiasm behind the production is something to observe and take in.

5. XILENT “PIXEL JOURNEY” [ORIGINAL MIX] (AUDIOPORN) Release Date: 2013-5-27edmcharts_xilent

Rating: ★★★

Genre: ELECTRO HOUSE

Origin: POLAND

Description: The young dubstep and electro house Polish producer Xilent wraps up the top #5 chart for the first week of June. As part of re-release EP for “Boss Wave”, “Pixel Journey” make a sneaky debut. It’s an 8 bit track that too be honest is fairly reminsicent of Mord Fustang. Quirky in nature, the track is captivating at the same time, with brilliant progressive drops and a solid bass to capture anyone’s ears. Xilent has been making a big name for himself thus far in 2013, with a sound that is simply different than what we’ve been hearing from most dubstep artists, something minty fresh.
