A hot june equals hot music! This week EDM Charts purveys the hottest deep house releases of 2013 thus far. Erkka “excommunicates” what is standard in the industry. Climbers are anything but “frozen” with their blazing new single. Lars Vegas shows us what the “game” is all about.

1. ERKKA “EXCOMMUNICATION” [ORIGINAL MIX] (ANJUNADEEP) Release Date: 2013-6-3edmcharts_erkka

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: DEEP HOUSE

Origin: FINLAND

Description: Erkka tops the chart as the #1 deep house hit of 2013 thus far with a futuristic vibing track under the famed Anjunadeep label. This track has a little bit of everything. A snazzy vocal chopped over a deep soulful instrumental highlights what deep house is truly meant to be. This Finnish producer is fairly new to the scene, but if this is any precedent on what to expect, fans should really keep their ears tuned in.

2. SILKY, BARBERS, CLIMBERS “FROZEN” [ORIGINAL MIX] (OFF RECORDINGS) Release Date: 2013-5-21edmcharts_climbers

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: DEEP HOUSE

Origin: MEXICO

Description: As we continue our grooving vibe down the top #5, we welcome Mexican duo the Climbers. Their latest release under Off Recordings, highlights a solid 80s feel on “Frozen”. This downtempo track features some great male vocals cleverly layered over so disco-esque beats. The craftsmanship is clearly shown, as the bassline is smooth and production is even more organic. This new collaboration is another duo to watch closely as they are bound to have many more hits.

3. LARS VEGAS “THE GAME” [ORIGINAL MIX] (LARGE MUSIC) Release Date: 2013-4-1edmcharts_larsvegas

Rating: ★★★★

Genre: DEEP HOUSE

Origin: HOLLAND

Description: At the #3 spot is Dutch producer Lars Vegas with “The Game”. If you’re looking for soul, disco, vocals and quality house you’ve found the right track. Lars Vegas actually represents one half of Detroit Swindlers. This track is a bit more upbeat, but really captures the moment. EDM listeners can only hope for more tunes like this, as we can see a pure fusion between energy, solid instrumentals and rather clever interpretation of deep house.

4. LE YOUTH “C O O L” [BEN PEARCE REMIX] (ULTRA) Release Date: 2013-6-3edmcharts_leyouth

Rating: ★★★★

Genre: DEEP HOUSE

Origin: USA

Description: We really couldn’t define this sound better than Le Youth’s Facebook page: “90s sounds refracted through a thoroughly modern aesthetic.” The Ben Pearce remix takes us through a chill, bar groove type feel. The female vocal adds some sexy and clean feel to the track. If you can’t groove to this track you might have a problem, as the beat is just right balanced with some trumpet-like synths. What a great release from Le Youth.

5. RIVA STARR, RSSLL “KILL ME” [CLAPTONE REMIX] (AUDIOPORN) Release Date: 2013-5-20edmcharts_rivastarr

Rating: ★★★

Genre: DEEP HOUSE

Origin: ITALY

Description: To round out the top #5 deep house tracks of 2013 thus far, house legend Riva Starr takes the cake. This funky, groove driven track highlights, what we might say are some brilliant vocals. Thanks to remix extrodanaire Claptone, a nice symphonic element is added to the track. The lyrics and track not only provide something to dance to, but the lyrics them self make us take a deeper look on life. You really can’t go wrong with the duo of Riva Starr and Clapton; far too much talent and star power.
