EDM Charts is very excited to have vocalist Arnold Jarvis in the “house” for an intimate interview! Known to the house music community as one of the premier soulful house singers, with over 50 singles and 3 albums to his credit, Arnold still continues to publish quality music with a timeless perspective. Let’s find out more about his recent single “Reciprocated Love”, how he got involved with music and upcoming projects: Arnold Jarvis!

Arnold, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule! Tell us where you’re from and how you got introduced to music production?

I was born in Richmond, Virginia and raised predominately in Baltimore, MD. I’ve always had an affinity to music from such an early age, 4 years old as I can remember. Humming and singing melodies and songs on the radio or to the music my mom played.
Professionally, I was introduced to music production as a background singer for Fonda Rae and later, when recording my first single “Take Some Time Out” with Yvonne Turner and Tommy Musto.

What led you to specifically getting involved with deep house genre?

I’m not sure, it just kind of happened. I was singing R&B and Gospel at the time and house music was on the rise. The opportunity just presented itself.

What is it like working with Noir Music as a label?

Noir Music is one of the best underground music labels out right now. You get nothing but top-notch quality productions here from the best producers. Noir is all about delivering a solid musical package and seeing it through. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the label.

Your most recent track you collaborated with Danism on, “Reciprocated Love” was recently featured on EDM Charts and has got great exposure on Beatport. Describe the track and what it was like working with Danism?

Yes, I want to thank you guys for featuring it on EDM Charts. It’s very inspiring to work with producers who can equally produce quality beats as well as a great vocal production. This combination is so important to me. Danism has a precision with music and vocals that embodies soul, energy and depth. This is how I describe ‘Reciprocated Love”. When I heard the final masters, I was like, “ OMG!” I literally could not stop listening and dancing to it.

What are some upcoming productions/projects you are working on?

I am currently working on a follow up track with Danism. I’ve also recorded and performed a song called, “Lost in Love” produced by Greg Gauthier for a foreign film entitled “EDEN’, which I made my acting debut in as well. An awesome experience! In addition, I have few new music collaborations in progress as well.
Are you performing at any big festivals or performances this winter?
No big festivals or performances scheduled at the moment. I just finished the Southport Weekender 50th Anniversary earlier this year with Kerri Chandler and Band; however, I do look forward in touring again, especially with a band.

When doing a live set, what is your set up?

I absolutely love performing dance music with a live band; it’s my preference at the moment. It creates such a dynamic energy and magical experience for the audience; however, when doing PAs, I would normally do a Medley of the older cuts mixed in with a few of the more popular tracks.

What is your hottest track at the moment?

I’m not sure about this question, maybe geared more for a DJ, but if it’s for me as an artist, I would say “Reciprocated Love”.

Where can fans discover more about you and get your music?

Fan can discover my music almost anywhere on-line, iTunes, Beatport, Traxsource, CDBaby, Spotify, Soundcloud, etc…. just do a search, I’m out there.
