UK house producer Leigh D Oliver sits down with us to discuss his recent single “(sic)”, future releases and what goes into his music productions!  Find out even more about Leigh D Oliver!

Leigh, thanks for sitting down to catch up with EDM Charts! Tell us where you’re from and how you got into music?

You’re welcome. I’m from Yorkshire in the UK. I first got into music through a box of discarded 7″ records from the local pub juke box when I was 3 or 4, things progressed from there really.

What led you to specifically getting involved with the house, tech house and deep house genres?

A club called Back to Basics in Leeds first opened my ears to proper house music in the late 90’s. It was around that time when I put down my guitar and bought some turntables and synthesisers.

What is it like working with Inner City as a label?

It’s good, they’re local lads who I trust with my music.

Your most recent track, “(Sic)” will be featured on EDM Charts, Vol. 142. Describe the track and how it all came together?

Most of my tracks start with a beat and then evolve over a number of weeks or months – sometimes I might go through 3 or 4 tracks worth of ideas before settling on the final version. (sic) is no exception.

What are some upcoming productions/projects you are working on?

There’s an EP for Deep House Amsterdam which is almost done and a couple of remixes for Plastik People and Kaleido, plus a couple more EPs which are in the early stages of coming together oh and more collabs with my man Andy Lee.

What is your pre-show routine and also your set up for live performances?

A nice cup of tea followed by a quick back scuttle.

What is your set up for producing music, as Ableton, live instruments, etc…

An old version of Cubase, UAD plugs, soundtoys plugs, D16 plugs, and a couple of bits of hardware in my Neumann summing mixer and Drawmer 68.

What is your hottest track at the moment?

Leigh D Oliver ‘Life in the hands of a machine’

Here’s a fun question for you: blondes or brunettes; and why?

Gotta love Gingers!

Where can fans discover more about you and get your music?
