UK house music duo Audiowhores, know for their high quality productions under such big labels as Toolroom and Defected, take time out of their schedule to chat with us. We find out what they’ve been up to, recent releases and what got them in to music!  Take a moment to read up even more on Audiowhores!

Graham & Adam, thanks for taking time to sit down with EDM Charts! Tell us where you’re from and how you got in to music production?

Hi!  Thanks for having us 🙂 We’re from Manchester in the UK, we’ve been producing as Audiowhores for 15 years now, but myself (Graham) I’ve been producing music since I was 15 years old (over 20 years now).  I’ve been in bands playing guitar and also in the school brass band, so I suppose you can say I’ve always had some kind of music in my life at some point!  I met Adam at a club called “The Bluenote” in Todmorden, he was a resident there and I was a regular, that’s where Audiowhores was born!

What is it like working in collaboration with Toolroom Records? How big of an influence has Mark Knight been?

It feels like home already for us, Mark Knight and all the staff at Toolroom are such a nice bunch of likeminded house heads. We’ve been a big fan of Mark since about 2001 and have played many of his tracks in our sets, “Devil Walking”, “Sax” and “Man With The Red Face” spring to mind!

What is your setup for making music? Ableton, etc…

We used to produce on Cubase back in the day, but when I started working part time for Apple I got into Logic Pro and we’re now on Logic X. We’ve started to rewire Ableton into Logic too which has been quite a lot of fun.

Your most recent track, “Sittin'” was featured on EDM Charts, Vol. 135 and has got great exposure on Beatport and other radio shows/podcasts. Describe the track and how it all came together?

It was a track that was produced for our forthcoming album on Toolroom, the album has a mixture of Deep House, House and Tech House.  We produced “Sittin’” as we wanted a straight up house groove to fit on the album.  The guys at Toolroom loved the track so we produced another mix (The Warehouse Mix) and released it ahead of the album – it did really well on both Beatport and Traxsource.

What are some upcoming productions/projects you are working on?

We’ve just finished mixing the new Toolroom Selector Series.  It features a new track of ours called “Bass” with Dajae on vocals and should be out 19.01.15..  We’re also putting the finishing touches to our debut album, which will be also coming out soon on Toolroom. Watch this space!

What are some of your favorite venues that you have performed at? Are there any venues you haven’t that you really want to do a show/set?

Quite a few to mention here, our favorites have been…

Stadium, Jakarta
Booom, Ibiza
Egg, London
Attica, Singapore

Who has been your biggest musical influence(s) so far?

Wow.. where do we start? There has certainly been quite a few over the years. In the early days it was the likes of Masters at Work, Joey Negro, Knee Deep, Jazz n Groove, Dennis Ferrer, Copyright, Full Intention etc. More recently it would be Hot Since 82, Noir, Henrik Schwarz, Tube & Berger, Dennis F again!

What is your hottest track at the moment?

It has to be Prok & Fitch – Raw Cut. Such a top groove!

Where can fans discover more about you and get your music?

We’re regularly posting new music and mixes up on our Soundcloud page www.soundcloud.com/audiowhores.  If not our Facebook is www.facebook.com/awmusicuk/
