WEEKLY TOP ELECTRONIC CHARTS: MAY 2013, VOL. 103

7 May

VOL103_DAFT

Summer is almost here as we hit May running! Daft Punk have nostalgically looped fans together once again. Mark Knight shows some “love” to house fans with another massive release. Above & Beyond introduce us to their new friend “Walter White”.

1. DAFT PUNK “GET LUCKY” [RADIO EDIT] (COLUMBIA) Release Date: 2013-4-19edmcharts_daftpunk

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: POP

Origin: FRANCE

Description: With the most massive release of the year, maybe regardless of genre, the long awaited new single of Daft Punk’s new album “Random Access Memories” is debuted. With production assistance provided by legendary producer Niles Rodgers and vocal assistance from crooner Pharrell Williams, the track is neo-synth to its finest. Daft Punk are legends because they are the best producers the genre has ever seen. Even though their tracks slide a bit more to the pop side, you cannot deny their acute attention to detail and keen sense of selecting assistance on their album productions.

WEEKLY TOP ELECTRONIC CHARTS: FEBRUARY 2013, VOL. 94

1 Mar

This week’s chart is full of Dutch domination! Above & Beyond keep their Group Therapy effort going with “Black Room Boy”. Armin van Buuren & W&W continue their expedition with “D# Fat”. John Dahlback show us some “life” with his latest progressive house smash hit.

1. ABOVE & BEYOND “BLACK ROOM BOY” [ORIGINAL MIX] (ANJUNABEATS) Release Date: 2013-2-25edmcharts_above

Rating: ★★★★★

Genre: TRANCE

Origin: UK

Description: Above & Beyond continue to release individual original mixes from last year’s “Group Therapy” album. “Black Room Boy” just adds to the list of brilliant stand outs from the album. The track features the group’s stand out (and almost exclusive) vocalist Richard Bedford. The track has a little more a darker vibe to it than the typical nostalgic tracks from Above & Beyond. It truly takes a talent like Above & Beyond, to release an album over a year ago, and then re-release each track as an original mix.
